Did you know that four Romanian officers conspired to assassinate King Carol II in 1934? They outlined the plan in their room at the second floor of Grand Hotel du Boulevard. The officers tried to kill the Romanian king while his Majesty was paasing by the hotel on his way to attend the Easter Vigil at the Metropolitan Cathedral. The plot failed and the accomplices were sent to jail.
