Did you know that the Fire Tower was built in 1890 as a watchtower for the firefighters? The 42 meters high tower was used by the firemen until 1935, when it became useless as more and more high buildings were built in Bucharest.
Since 1963, the Fire Tower serves as the Museum of Firefighters. There’s also a legend saying that the tower is haunted by the wife of a firefighter, who died searching for a proof that her husband had a love affair.
