Did you know that Bucharest North Railway Station was built between 1868 and 1872? It wasn’t meant to be the city’s main station, but during the years it became the most important railway station in Romania. The entire area was heavily bombed by the Allies during the Second World War, since it was the main departure point for troops heading to the Eastern front.
